Tips to Relaxing Summer Days

summer relax tips and tricks

With the warm weather already here, face the heat the right way! Summer is the season to get outside and enjoy yourself. It's also the time of year where no matter how much you try to avoid it, you still have a lot on your to-do list.

There is just too many things you want to accomplish with the warm temperatures and sunny days. Take the time to enjoy the weather the right way!

The following tips and tricks can help to make your summer days the most relaxing.

Let the Summer Begin!

Protect Your Skin!

These warm sunny days are going to be calling your name but don't neglect your skin! Protecting your skin now will help to prevent issues further down the road, such as wrinkles and even skin cancer. Other than putting on sunscreen before exposing yourself to the sun, there are different methods that you can add to your skin care regime.

  • Eat Skin Nourishing Foods

Eating foods rich with antioxidants can help protect your skin against harmful sunrays. Antioxidants also help to reverse the damage already done to skin! Plant-based foods such as fruits and vegetables are full of antioxidants and compounds that protect from UV lights. So dig into that bowl of fruit salad before hitting the poolside!

  • Shield Yourself From the Sun

Because it's so nice out it can be easy to forget to cover your body. However, you will pay the price from over-exposure later, suffering from painful sunburn of even longer lasting effects! This can be prevented by simply putting on a hat to protect your sensitive scalp (a part of the body that is often overlooked). Having an umbrella with you during very sunny days can also save you from unexpected burns. If you are going to the beach or a similar area, you should always have an umbrella to provide relief from the strong rays!

  • Use Sunscreen Frequently but Healthily!

Using sunscreen is one of the most obvious ways to protect yourself from the negative affects of the sun. However, while it is very important to cover yourself when you're going to be exposed, even for a brief amount of time, you should consider the ingredients in your chosen sunscreen. Look at the ingredients in your sunscreens, many can be artificial and chemical. There are a good number of natural oils that contain SPF properties.

  • Almond Oil- SPF 5

  • Coconut Oil- SPF 4-6

  • Red Raspberry Seed Oil- SPF 25-50

  • Carrot Seed Oil- SPF 35-40

  • Shea Butter- SPF 4-6

Consider buying all-natural sunscreens with similar ingredients or even making your own!
