Who can benefit from an Acupressure Chair Massage?

What does "Shiatsu based Acupressure Massage mean"?

In Japanese, Shiatsu means "finger pressure". It is a Japanese acupressure massage technique consisting of finger and palm pressure, stretches and other massage techniques. Shiatsu is the Japanese alternative to Chinese acupuncture using the same pressure points, except without the use of needles.

How does Acupressure Chair Massage work?

It relieves the pain and tension caused by the tightening of the upper body muscle groups and enhances the function of the circulatory system. Thereby, the massage drives out toxins and increases the flow of oxygen-rich blood to muscle tissue. The massage  is fully clothed. It is carried out in a specially designed chair.

With a few exceptions*, the majority of people can benefit from chair massage. Nowadays, our work/life balance can feel out of kilter. We often feel overburdened, and over time this can result in poor performance in our lives. Katoka's massage is a fast, effective and safe way of reducing the effects of stress by providing a sense of wellbeing and improving blood circulation around the body, enhancing focus and productivity.

* Exceptions: if you had an operation in the last 3 months; if you are planning to become pregnant or are under 3 months pregnant.

What does "On-site" Chair Massage mean?

Ideally the massages take place in a meeting room booked for that purpose on the day or a quiet area in your office. The space required is approximately 2x3 meters per chair/massage therapist. An additional 15 minutes set-up time is required.
